Dr Ankit Garg is an Australian trained and certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. Having completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Adelaide University, Dr Garg went on to pursue his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from University of Melbourne. Having worked at multiple hospitals in both, Australia and England within Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Dr Garg settled down in Tasmania in the early 2000s.
Dr Garg is heavily involved with training future surgeons, he is the director of training for the SA/TAS training centre and former Head of Department for OMFS at Royal Hobart Hospital Dr Garg practices privately at TOMIS in Hobart, and Launceston. He maintains a wide range of clinical practice.

Dr Michael Carter
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr Michael Carter is an Australian-trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who completed his surgical training in Victoria. Following this, he further refined his expertise at Waikato Hospital, a Tier 1 trauma centre in New Zealand, where he focused on complex facial trauma, oral pathology and cleft surgery.
Michael remains actively involved in the education and training of surgical trainees, contributing to the ongoing development of the profession.
Outside of surgery, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and following rugby — especially when supporting the Wallabies and Arsenal in the premier league.
Dr Sankar Manchella
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Sankar Manchella has joined Northern Tasmanian Oral Surgical Services team. Dr. Manchella is a dual-qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, holding degrees in Medicine and Dentistry.
He completed his undergraduate Science and Medical degrees at the Australian National University and his Dental degree at the University of Melbourne. His specialist surgical training was conducted across Victoria and Tasmania, including a six-month tenure at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Following his specialist qualifications, Dr. Manchella served as a Senior Clinical Fellow in craniofacial, trauma, and deformity surgery at King’s College Hospital in London. Having previously worked with us in Hobart, he has now returned to Tasmania to join our Launceston practice.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Manchella serves as a consultant surgeon at several public hospitals in Melbourne, where he instructs surgical trainees, and holds a position as a clinical lecturer at the Melbourne Dental School.
Dr. Richard Allen
Dental Surgeon
BDS, MFDS (Glasgow)
Richard graduated in Dentistry from the University of Glasgow in 2000. He spent one year in general dental practice and then worked in multiple oral surgery hospital posts in the UK. He settled in Tasmania in 2009. Richard restricted his practice to oral surgical procedures for the last 24 years and has a particular interest and experience in wisdom tooth surgery, surgical dental extractions, dental implants and surgery related to orthodontic treatment. Richard is based at our Launceston practice and visits Ulverstone twice a month.
Dr. Anita Lim
Oral Medicine Specialist
I attended La Trobe University, Bendigo graduating from Dentistry in 2013. I spent 10 fulfilling years as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, before undertaking
specialty training at the University of Melbourne. I graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry and registered as an Oral Medicine Specialist with AHPRA in 2024.

Dr. Jayce Gilbert
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Dr Jayce Gilbert is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (awarded by Fellowship of the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2010). He has extensive expertise and specialisation in the assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular focus on TMD, facial and neck pain. Originally from and trained in Western Australia, Jayce now consults in both Hobart and Melbourne. In addition to clinical practice, Jayce has research and teaching experience at the University of Melbourne, Swinburne University and the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
He is part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation for patients under oral medicine and maxillofacial care. His collaborative approach ensures patients receive tailored, effective care as part of an integrated treatment plan.
Dr Michael Schenberg
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr Michael Schenberg completed formal training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 1990.
He then spent over two years broadening his surgical skills in major teaching hospitals in England, Scotland and The Netherlands.
His areas of interest include impacted wisdom teeth, dental implantology and management of tumours of the oral cavity and jaws.
In the past, he was actively involved in teaching of oral and maxillofacial surgery to trainee oral and maxillofacial surgeons, medical students and dental students.
Dr Schenberg was active in overseas humanitarian aid, leading teams performing oral and maxillofacial surgery in large hospitals in Vietnam for 15 years. He now performs outreach work in rural Queensland.
Dr Schenberg is also passionate about design and has designed surgical instruments and a popular anaesthetic airway device – the LMA® SureSeal™ FlexyPlus – which has been distributed in Australia and overseas since 2012. He recently completed a degree in Industrial Design.
